Update – Graydon Pool Project – Upcoming Open Houses – from Village of Ridgewood website:

Representatives from the Ridgewood Pool Project, Parks and Recreation, and the Village Council will hold a series of Open Houses to discuss design concepts for the proposed Graydon Pool renovation. All residents are invited to come and share their opinions. The object of these sessions is to gather as much resident feedback as possible for the Council to consider before it decides how to proceed, when feasible, with the hiring of an architectural-design firm. Meetings will be held at the Community Center in Village Hall.

  1. Here is a question – Why don’t people just get a season’s pass to Great Adventure?

I do not have the money to make your summer dreams come true. The ice hockey families don’t ask us to build a rink.

  2. Six Flags, which owns and operates Great Adventure, may be seeking bankruptcy protection. Don’t worry though because the Pool Project members believe our version of a water park can be self-sustaining without the need for any tax dollars. Too bad these members don’t run Six Flags.

  3. oh boy, between Graydon and the BOE, our taxes are going to go up, up, up.

  4. “oh boy, between Graydon and the BOE, our taxes are going to go up, up, up.”

…but at least with GraydonVenture we are getting something of value. Sadly, the same can’t be said of the BOE.

  5. There is no reason for further discussion/study. Just can it!

  6. Mountain Creek is closer and also has season’s passes.

  7. I’m not sure the wisdom of this when it has recently been posted yard waste pick up has been postponed for nearly a month. If the village does not have the money to operate a truck to pick up yard waste…which was to start this week, why should any more thought be put into this? Put it on hold until the financial climate improves.

  8. 11:05 — Because a new pool will generate the revenue the Village needs to operate the truck to pick up the yard waste. We need to start thinking differently about projects that can actually make money. The Village is going to need it!

  9. OMG …the Ridgewood Betty Patrol has spoken !
Hmmmmm…….Toxic assets / Graydon pool update..
