Village Manager Forced To Give Up Official Vehicle?

In Uncategorized on February 4, 2009 at 11:30 pm

It is being reported that Village Manager Jim TenHoeve was ordered to permanently turn in his official Village vehicle to the police department.

Anyone know what’s going on? Did he have another motor vehicle crash?

  1. Why did he need a vehicle to begin with?

  2. no he did not its bad on gas like 12 mils a gal .

  3. chief lipuma was given the vehicle. village manager doing the right thing attempting to cut budget, instead of a new vehicle purchase for new police chief.

  4. Good job on the cost savings…..One less vehicle purchase for 2009.

  5. When will the other department heads and directors who take cars home at night be asked to turn their vehciles in?

Frank Moritz should turn his in first!

  6. NO ONE should be taking home a Village owned vehicle at night except the Fire Chief, Police Chief, and Emergency Services Director.

Anyone else called in on an emergency basis should be forced to come into the Village Hall parking lot, or other designated VOR location, and pick their official vehicle up before responding to the scene.

Only the Police Chief, Fire Chief, or ES Director need to get to a scene with lights and sirens. Anyone else can take a few minutes to pick up a car.

  7. TO 1136AM,TAKE A WALK.IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE IN ONE OF THREE DEPTS.YOU NEED TO GET A LIFE AND MIND YOUR OWN DEPT BIZZ.

  8. THE BOTTOM LINE IS STOP YOUR CRYING.SOME OF YOU NEED TO STOP WORYING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE O MY GOD .STAY OUT OF THE BAR AND GET A LIFE.WHAT A BIG LOW LIFE.

  9. to 11.36,come on ,do you know what you sound like.you sound like your in6th grade.grow up.

  10. 156 thats so true.

  11. good job jim.now some people will start crying about john takeing the car home.we will all ways have a babey in the bunch.

  12. If true, nice move, Mr. TenHoeve.

  13. What is this in the original post about motor vehicle crashes?

Exactly how many accidents has he had?

  14. Perhaps its because you don’t put a loaded gun in the hands of a five year old and you don’t put five year olds in the hands of a loaded driver.

  15. “Exactly how many accidents has he had?”

Two that have been reported. One during which he totalled a Toyota Prius in a head on crash in Hawthorne, the other involving a pedestrian/bicyclist near BOE HQ.

  16. times are tough a bicycle would be fine

  17. I NEW THE CRY BABEYS WILL START CRYING.GO GET A LIFE.YOU NEED TO WORY ABOUT YOUR LIFE.

  18. Public safety directors will not have their vehicles taken away. Make all the rude comments ya want, but it’s not gonna happen.

  19. And why does the village animal control officer need several vehicles. It’s not like we are situated near a wildlife park with bison roaming around. Do they actually round up animals? Every time I’ve called they’ve said I must hire a private company for that. Whether it was a wild raccoon, stray dog or squirrels thaey always have steered me elsewhere. WTF do they do all day? Collect dog and cat licensing fees? I’m sure a more efficient use of town vehicles can be initiated. Perhaps a shared use arrangement of sorts. Taxpayer money out the freakin window again.

  20. The animal control officer also performs the job of answering complaints about certain property ordinance violations. Any time he has been called to deal with an inconsiderate neighbor with barking dogs he has done a supreme job. We got a bargain with him. As usual, you are uninformed 1:06AM. If you didnt have garbage on your property, the racoons would go eat somewhere else. And stop feeding the squirrels. Sounds like you have a bone to pick with him. Whats next week? bitching at the Ridgewood PD about speeders in Hackensack?

  21. WELL HOW COME HE WILL NOT PICK UP DEAD ANIMALS,THAT IS HIS JOB.IN OTHER TOWNS THE ANIMAL OFFICER PICKS THEM UP,HUMMMM WELL .

  22. hey genius…its the job of the STREETS dept..where YOU work…

  23. Most people get 15 – 25 miles per gallon. Our town manager gets 15 – 25 miles per shot. You think he was on vacation?

  24. Its not the street department job to pick up dead animals in Ridgewood

  25. street dept job=CLEAN the streets. that means plow snow, run the street sweeper, and pick up whatever is in the road. no difference between a dead skunk, rat or a bag of garbage.

  26. to 736 I work in a store on e,ridgewood av.thank you.

  27. ok 1:10p. quit feeding the meters so us shoppers have a place to park so we can spend money in your store
