Ten Hoeve: “The Village Council and I were notified in advance of plans to conduct a robo call campaign.”

In Jim Tn Hoeve, Ridgewood New Jersey, VC on January 29, 2009 at 4:10 pm

Village Manager Jim Ten Hoeve revealed last night that he and members of the Village Council were informed by e-mail of the Ridgewood Pool Project Committee’s intent to use a BOE sponsored Swift911 system to generate support for the proposed $13.9 million Graydon Pool renovation project.

However, Ten Hoeve and Councilwoman Anne Zusy both admitted that they did not read the e-mail, which was sent by Ridgewood Pool Project co-chair Jane Morales. There was no comment from any Village Council member other than Ms. Zusy.

The Fly wonders what other important e-mail notifications Ten Hoeve and the Council have overlooked recently.

  1. I wonder if Jim Ten Hoeve and Anne Zusy only check their emails regarding Village business around election time.

Perhaps their future opposition during re-election season can use the tag line “I read EVERY email!”

  2. I believe you got it wrong. Killion stated that it one thing to propose a broad plan on ways of get information out to the residents but it another thing when its done without the knowledge or permission of the Village Manager or the Council.

Ten Hoeve’s disclosure implied that the Village Manager and Village Council indeed have knowledge (they received e-mails), but did not grant their permission.

  4. I’m sure the email looked like another junk email…

  5. But the school spokesperson said the school had received a request from the Village to use their system. Morales doesn’t work for the Village, does she? Some one isn’t being quite honest here.

    You think?

  7. i sent an email expressing my concerns about the pool project to the entire council and got only one reply.

and that was from anne zusy.

  8. Didn’t a council member make the request at the Board of Ed to use the system.
