You might want to report this from “The Fly”:

A news report covering the recent and well-publicized study out of Ohio State University, which demonstrates that starting with a word problem is a bad idea for teaching math concepts, was televised on Channel One, and shown to all the BF students last week during their morning announcements.

It is reported that students, on viewing the report, were exuberant.

Read about this study in the New York Times.

  1. Assistant Superintendent Botsford–tear down this wall! Set my people free!

  2. Even the liberals’ bible, The New York Times, is coming out against reform math.

If the weren’t they would not have orinted the story as is their policy with news they disagree with.

  3. Regina are you exuberant too????

  4. The Times gets it. It must be sad for them to have to give up the ghost.

  5. “Dr. Kaminski and her colleagues Vladimir M. Sloutsky and Andrew F. Heckler did something relatively rare in education research: they performed a randomized, controlled experiment. “

This statement alone speaks volumes about the current state of our education system.
